Busy, Not Stagnant
I normally try not to do these posts in first person, but I can’t get away from it today.
As many of you know, I do this site as a hobby. It is my way of giving back to the industry I so love and wish to see grow. I haven’t updated anything in about 5 and a half months. There are events that have come and gone that I did not inform you about because I hadn’t made an update post about them. I have been working all summer, recently became an Apprentice in IATSE Local 197, and I have been busy. I now have an update for you all!
INTRODUCING… The Calendar!
You will find on the Auditions, Conferences, Conventions, and Expos page, at the bottom, a Google calendar just for EntWork relevant events! This will also include any one-act or playwriting festivals I can find, and includes dance festivals.
I almost forgot, I’ve added the Vail Dance Festival to the same page. Please, any dancers out there or anyone who knows a dancer, let me know of things like this or other opportunities that are out there for dancers to find work beyond musicals. That said, keep in mind that musicals are a great way to apply your training in various ways to earn a living doing what you love. SETC, UPTA, and others have dance auditions annually.
I intend to keep working for you, to keep this a free (to you) resource with little to no advertising. If you would like to help your fellow actors, directors, dancers, technicians, designers, dramaturgs, etc. by contributing, feel free to send me additional resources through the Contact page. I am seeking templates or examples of portfolios, resumes, and other useful paperwork for applying, auditioning, and interviewing.
Thanks!
