Edit and Addition -- Facebook

One of the wonderful users of this site pointed out a bad link for Serenbe Playhouse. The link has been removed, but the playhouse still listed. A quick Google search did not return a safe URL to post. I will keep the playhouse listed for the time being without any links and check in on them later.

In searching, I came across Atlanta Theatre Buzz. They deal with the Atlanta metro area entertainment scene. If you have any interest in film and television, working in the Atlanta area may not be a bad move. TV shows like The Walking Dead and Stranger Things (in Jackson, GA, about 50 miles southeast of Atlanta) are/were filmed in the area. Tyler Perry Studios is also located in Atlanta, about halfway between Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and Downtown.

Lastly, about Facebook. It is important to reach people and make things like this directory as accessible as possible. However, Facebook is not a company I wish to be associated with even as a user of their platform. Scholarly articles have been written since at least 2012 on the platform’s effects on teens’ mental health. It has been a platform for misinformation with increasingly dangerous frequency and consequences. Beginning January 1, 2022, any links with this web site to Facebook and the associated “page” will cease. Casting and hiring organizations still listed on Facebook will not be removed since that is the only place to find them. I do not make this decision lightly.

With the removal from Facebook, it will be even more important for word-of-mouth advertising for this site. Please let friends who are looking for live entertainment work know about the site. If you have professors who teach about job hunting, please let them know as well.
